David Keligian J.D.

David Keligian, Chief Financial Officer, has given many hours during the last several months providing invaluable assistance to the EyeCare Project during its incorporation process and other legal and financial set-up required for a new nonprofit organization. A tax attorney and shareholder in The Busch Firm, Irvine, Mr. Keligian brings to the board expert qualifications in law, accounting and finance. He received his J.D with Moot Court Honors, his M.B.A. as a Dean’s Scholar, and his B.S. in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude —all from University of Southern California.

Mr. Keligian’s law practice emphasizes planning for closely held and start-up business ventures and their founders; venture capital, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions of businesses; resolution of tax controversies; corporate and real estate tax planning; and foreign tax. His pubic accounting experience includes consulting regarding acquisitions and dispositions of U.S. businesses and real estate; corporate taxation; international transfers of know-how and technology; and tax planning for non-resident individuals and corporations.

Mr. Keligian is widely published on a range of tax accounting and finance subjects, and a well-recognized panelist and lecturer for the California Continuing Education of the Bar, California CPA Foundation, U.S. Federal Court, California Department of Real Estate, and the California Society of CPAs on various tax accounting and finance topics.

A father of four, Mr. Keligian is married to Diane Barsam, daughter Jean Barsam and the late Vartkes Barsam. Though sometimes a challenge with his busy legal practice, David contributes his time to a number of family, community, and Armenian activities. He coached his children’s baseball and soccer teams for six years and in addition to his service on the EyeCare Project Board, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Diocese Endowment Fund; a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Armenian Professional Society; and a prior member and Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Ararat Home of Los Angeles.
