Jane Mahakian Ph.D.
Former director of elder care programs at the University of California San Francisco for nearly 10 years, Dr. Mahakian is President of Aging Matters, Inc, a geriatric care management company that specializes in working with older adults with dementia and their families. Dr. Mahakian conducts evaluations, develops care plans and implements these plans to optimize the life of the person with dementia. Jane has offices in both San Francisco and Orange County.
In addition, Jane works as a consultant to developers planning new dementia communities; provides training for health care professionals and conducts seminars and presentations to corporations in the area of elder care planning.
Dr. Mahakian is also founder/member of the Northern California Geriatric Specialists, a member of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers and a board member of the Northern California Armenian Nursing home. Dr. Mahakian is a national expert and speaker specializing in older adults and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Mahakian is also the USA representative for the Alzheimer’s Disease Armenian Association. During 1982, Dr. Mahakian spent time studying Clinical Psychology at Yerevan State University.
