Gifting Stock to the Armenian EyeCare Project
Our mission at the EyeCare Project is to eliminate preventable blindness in Armenian. With your help, we can bring hope and sight to the eyes of Armenian children and adults. Choose one of several ways of gift giving to share with those who need your help.
Appreciated securities are perhaps the most cost-effective assets to use in making a gift.
Gifts of stock are immediately converted to cash and used to support our patient care programs in Armenia. When you transfer ownership of long-term holdings to the U.S. Fund for the EyeCare Project, you receive a charitable deduction for their full market value—and you incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits).
According to IRS regulations, the date of your gift corresponds to the date it arrives in our possession (for transfers from brokerage account to brokerage account). You may donate stock by following three easy steps:
1. Request your broker to transfer your designated shares to the EyeCare Project account.
2. Your broker will electronically deliver the stock you designate to the following account:
- DTC #0352, Bear Stearns
- FBO: Armenian EyeCare Project (Tax ID No. 47-0850159)
- Acct. #709-95147
3. Notify the Armenian EyeCare Project by submitting the Stock Form by E-mail stock@eyecareproject.com or fax us at 949-673-2356. Or, you may advise us when the stock has been transferred. You will receive a written acknowledgement by mail. All personal information is securely destroyed. Include the following information:
- Donor's full name and complete address
- Name and number of securities transferred
- Name of brokerage house shares will be transferred from
- Date of the transfer
Matching Gift. You can multiply your gift if you work for a company that has a matching gift plan. We will contact them for you, or you can ask your company to send a matching gift form to the EyeCare Project Office at P.O. Box 5630, Newport Beach, California 92662.
