Eye Prosthesis

Eye Prosthesis
Holly

“I am so grateful to the EyeCare Project,” said Christine Hajinyan, 25.  With her new eye prosthesis provided by the Project, Christine hopes to find a better job and  complete her studies to become a nurse. “I would really like to become a nurse so I can help people.”

The leading cause of blindness in children is eye injury and three out of four of children's eye injuries happen when no adult is present. In Armenia,  tragic accidents continue to take the sight of hundreds of children in each year with a number of these the result of land mines, which still cover the Armenian landscape and are picked up by curious children.  The Project receives several requests each month for eye prostheses from people who cannot afford them—primarily young people. Your gift includes examinations, fittings, a new prosthesis and follow-up.
