In 1992, a call came from the Armenian Minister of Health: "Help us fight the growing wave of blindness." Roger Ohanesian, M.D. made his first visit to Armenia that year.

What began as a few Ophthamologist traveling to Armenia twice a year in 1992, has evolved over the years into an internationally renowned ophthalmology "Center of Excellence".
